Policial diz que água estava batendo uns três metros de altura e afetou toda a rede elétrica e o fluxo de oxigênio do hospital
Uma ação conjunta entre o Comando de Aviação da Polícia Militar e o Corpo de Bombeiros de São Paulo e do Rio Grande do Sul ajudou no resgate de três pacientes entubados do Hospital de Pronto Socorro de Canoas, que foi totalmente alagado pelas fortes chuvas que atingiram o estado gaúcho nos últimos dias. As vítimas estavam na UTI e foram socorridas e levadas a outro centro médico ainda vivas.
Devido às condições do local, o resgate foi impossibilitado de ser realizado por meio aéreo, sendo feito com a utilização de botes. De acordo com o policial enfermeiro Isac Coelho, que estava na ocorrência, “a água estava batendo uns três metros de altura e afetou toda a rede elétrica e o fluxo de oxigênio do hospital”.
Quando as chuvas invadiram o Pronto Socorro de Canoas na última sexta-feira (3), mais de cem pessoas estavam no local – cerca de 20 pacientes eram da UTI. As equipes precisaram utilizar as embarcações para entrar. Três pacientes conseguiram ser resgatados com vida.
“Foi, sem dúvidas, uma das ocorrências mais marcantes que presenciei aqui. O local era de difícil acesso e demos prioridade para os pacientes mais graves, que estavam respirando por aparelhos. Infelizmente não foi possível salvar todos, mas fizemos o que estava a nosso alcance”, disse o major Adriano Baruffaldi, comandante das equipes de São Paulo na ajuda humanitária ao Rio Grande do Sul.
Outros resgates
Além dos três, mais pacientes puderam ser resgatados graças ao apoio das forças de segurança paulista. Desde o último sábado (4), as equipes contam com o reforço do Águia 33 da PM, uma aeronave que funciona como uma “UTI aérea” com equipamentos hospitalares e itens para realização de intervenções cirúrgicas.
A aeronave ajudou no transporte de uma criança de 10 anos em tratamento de câncer para um hospital em Porto Alegre. A ação ocorreu nesta terça-feira (7) na cidade de São Leopoldo, onde o paciente oncológico estava internado.
Já na segunda-feira (6), o helicóptero ajudou a transportar uma criança de quatro meses com quadro de cardiopatia grave de Santa Maria até o Instituto de Cardiologia, em Porto Alegre.
A aeronave também ajudou na evacuação de uma idosa que precisava ser transferida para a UTI de outra unidade no domingo (5).
No total, mais de mil pessoas foram resgatadas pela Polícia Militar do Estado de São Paulo até esta terça-feira (7). A ação é realizada em conjunto com o Corpo de Bombeiros e o Comando de Aviação paulista.
