Neste sábado (20), 66 mudas de árvores nativas foram plantadas no Residencial Parque dos Eucaliptos, empreendimento considerado de interesse social, localizado no Wanel Ville, Zona Oeste de Sorocaba. Iniciativa do residencial, com a parceria da Prefeitura de Sorocaba, por meio da Secretaria do Meio Ambiente, Proteção e Bem-Estar Animal (Sema), o plantio contou com a participação de famílias que residem no local, principalmente de crianças.
De acordo com informações do síndico do Residencial Parque dos Eucaliptos, Leonardo Gonçalves Rodrigues da Costa, o objetivo da ação foi de sensibilizar a comunidade para preservar o meio ambiente e para a importância das árvores, além de deixar o condomínio mais bonito e, no futuro, atrair pássaros, e sombrear o local. O plantio também fez parte dos trabalhos da Sema, ligados à conservação e promoção da arborização urbana, ampliando a área vegetada da cidade, em harmonia com o Plano Municipal de Arborização.
Na área útil do condomínio, foram plantadas mudas de espécies frutíferas nativas, como jabuticaba, uvaia, araçá, pitanga, entre outras. Já a calçada ganhou mudas de aroeira-salsa e de cróton. Em todos os plantios são priorizadas as espécies nativas da região, que constam na “Lista de espécies indicadas para restauração ecológica para diversas regiões do estado de São Paulo” (Instituto de Botânica do Governo do Estado de São Paulo), com o intuito de enriquecer a biodiversidade do ecossistema.
Uma equipe da Secretaria do Meio Ambiente, Proteção e Bem-Estar Animal providenciou toda a estrutura necessária no local do plantio, como o transporte e a seleção das mudas produzidas no viveiro municipal, a abertura dos berços, além da utilização de tutores e insumos.
Para cada espécie plantada, a equipe da Sema deu informações sobre o nome, a época de frutificação, a cor do fruto, além de responder todas as perguntas feita pelas crianças. Durante a ação, a Sema ainda realizou uma oficina gratuita com todos os participantes do plantio, mostrando a maneira adequada de realizá-lo.
